Let’s Talk…
I help mothers who are struggling with their mental health during the perinatal and postpartum period. Despite being loving, compassionate, and hardworking mothers, this new way of life can still feel hard. Every day, people tell you how you’re supposed to feel about becoming a parent. Becoming a mother can be described as one of the best experiences of a woman’s life. Truth is, it can feel lonely, exhausting, and never-ending. Mothers will often say “even my closest friends and family didn’t realize how much I was struggling”. Internally, you feel a deep rage that no one understands and the people that “try to help” are irritating. You ‘ve endured countless feeds with painful latching and you feel anxious about your baby not getting enough milk. You now feel intense mom guilt coupled with being sleep deprived. Although you’ve always wanted children, you’re still grieving the life you once had. You hold your baby close to your heart and still feel nothing.
Before beginning therapy, mothers often suffer in silence. They may fear that no matter how hard they try, things will never get better, and that their families will be better off without them. Mothers worry if they reveal their true feelings, they will lose their children. You deserve to be seen and heard without judgement. Feeling happy does not have to be a luxury. You can have a healthy relationship with yourself and your family. If this sounds like you and you’re ready for change, I can help.

Initial Intake Assessment - 75 mins
We will begin treatment with an initial intake assessment to gather information about your medical and psychiatric history. This step is important because it helps pinpoint potential contributing factors that can be making your current situation feel worse. For many, this process helps uncover areas of concern to be further explored in individual therapy. On average, this process is 75 minutes. We will complete assessments, sign releases, and review policy. We’ll get this out the way in the beginning, so we can truly focus on the work you want to do together moving forward.

Creating a plan that works for you
Every mother is different. I’ll work with you to develop an individual treatment plan that outlines presenting issues, your treatment goals, safety, and ways to target problem areas—often combining holistic approaches, evidence-based practice, and science-based research. Any of these approaches can be tailored to your plan and needs with structure. This will be completed during you first individual therapy session after completing your intake. During follow up sessions, we will discuss anything that feels significant to you, and we will go at your pace, together.
All services are offered via telehealth.
